Nice video and I absolutely agree with you. Only if we looked at the data from last year it would look as something like global cooling but if we look at the data compared to the last 4 decades like we clearly see that all that global cooling is nonsense. I do have a question though, in the graph you've shown in the video, what are the vertical values? I assume it's temperature but I want to know in what measures it's shown. Thanks for a great video.Take care, Elli
Continuing a decade-long trend of declining global temperatures, the year 2008 was significantly colder than 2007, and global temperatures for the year were below the average over the past 30 years. The global temperature data, reported by NASA satellite-based temperature measurements, refuted predictions 2008 would be one of the warmest on record.Data show 2008 ranked 14th coldest of the 30 years measured by NASA satellite instruments since they were first launched in 1979. It was the coldest year since 2000.NASA seem to be contradicting their own satellite based evidence, NASA lying - that would be a change.Check out Bjorn Lomberg for a rational view not skewed by political need,RegardsFraser
Elli, the vertical values are in degrees Celsius, and represent the deviation ("anomaly") from the long-term average (which NASA GISS takes to be 1951-1980). The distance between lines is 0.2 C.
Thank you David for your answer, so I take it that the warmest months were about 0.8 degrees Celsius above the long-term average? And what is the long term average temp based on? Thanks again,Take care, Elli
Yes, you're right. I don't know the exact value for the 1951-1980 global temperature, but it's about 14 C. In any case, you can calculate it from NASA GISS's data at http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata/GLB.Ts+dSST.txt
How can we be in Global warming if the past 3 years were colder and much colder at that??? Does that show you something about the current climate??? And the current sunspot activity... There is no sunspot out there... And there has not been in like a year!! Does that tell you something??? And why has the last 2 summers and winters been colder then normal??? I think I am right here!! I rest my case!! Tyler
